The original ultimate trilogy! Question for the section: How involved are you in the Star Wars universe?

I...I'm not sure how involved I am. On one hand, I've read a bunch of the books, spend hours looking up lore, and generally know too much about the extended universe...or whatever they're calling it these days. On the other hand, I've seen the movies about once each and don't remember that much other than the super important things. It's confusing, but hey, it works for me.

I'm a hardcore casual fan, meaning I haven't read any of the extra novels (though I want to) and I haven't seen the movies in a while.
I grew up with two younger brothers that always wanted to watch Star Wars or Indiana Jones (all the best of Harrison Ford, am I right?) and the glory of being the oldest and agreeing to watch whatever action movie the boys wanted was that I got to put terms and conditions in. "We want to watch Star Wars!" "Okay, as long as it's the third one." "Okay!" Yeah, yeah, child me and crappy tastes in movies. I liked the third episode the best because shiny and pretty colors. Bad acting and crappy CGI didn't deter me. I still like the prequels, but only in a "what could have been" way. I'll be the first to admit they're crappy, but I love the ideas behind them. |

I am also a casual fan. Though I have not read any of the extra books, I watch the movies every so often and love them. The originals are the best by far~
Let's just say that my family grew up on that stuff. The first Star Wars was my mom's first movie in the theater and we've been in love ever since. Han Solo, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, they were all my heroes growing up. And if I happen to own a lightsaber and still really want to use the force, then hey, who's to judge? |
